The Frontier Duty Free Association (FDFA) has announced that registration is now open for their annual convention. The theme for this year’s convention is Canadian Duty Free – Building Tomorrow and it will take place from November 27 to 30 in Toronto, Ontario.
According to the association, the goal of the convention is to inspire current and prospective members to work together to see the duty free industry thrive and prosper.
“Our goal after coming out of the border closure and the pandemic is to see past recovery and focus on thriving and building our industry, said FDFA Executive Director, Barbara Barrett. “Our first full convention post-pandemic seeks to position Canada as a global leader in the duty free sector and position the industry as an integral part of the growing tourism sector in Canada.”
The FDFA convention stands as the exclusive gathering for duty free professionals in Canada, providing a platform for partners to experience business growth by connecting with buyers from duty free shops across Canada. This premier event offers a platform to build and grow the industry through product announcements and expanded brand awareness. Moreover, members can take advantage of networking opportunities to foster valuable relationships within the industry.
Up to 100 buyers are anticipated to attend, representing duty free stores from across Canada, with three days dedicated to individual business meetings, and great social networking events during the evenings. The convention will be launched with the Opening Cocktail on November 27, and the Gala and Awards to reveal winners of the Gold Standards Awards program will be held on November 29.
“We are returning to the Omni King Edward Hotel this year as its private spaces are conducive to our meeting and networking needs,” said Barrett. “We will continue to offer buyer group presentations, and we are again looking to include a dedicated Trade Floor, providing suppliers with an exceptional opportunity to showcase their distinctive goods at the convention.”
Registration is open to all FDFA members, and early bird convention registration ends September 27, 2023.
