Oliva Cigars, part of the Vandermarliere Cigar Family (VCF), is expanding its footprint in Asia’s fast-growing travel retail market with the installation of two dedicated humidors in China Duty Free locations at major international airports in Beijing and Shanghai.

At Beijing Daxing International Airport, travelers can now discover the Oliva Island humidor, a striking island-style display located in the Departure Hall. It features a carefully curated selection of Oliva’s most sought-after cigars, creating a premium retail experience that captures the brand’s craftsmanship and heritage. Meanwhile, at Shanghai Pudong International Airport’s Terminal 2, a sleek wall bay humidor offers a refined and accessible experience for aficionados seeking quality cigars before departure. These installations represent a key milestone in Oliva’s global travel retail strategy, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to visibility, accessibility, and excellence within high-traffic international hubs.

Oliva thanks the China Duty Free Group (CDFG) for their support in making this possible. CDFG is a key partner for Oliva in Asia, and their dedication played a crucial role in this achievement.

“These humidors reflect our belief that travel retail should go beyond convenience — it should create a sense of discovery,” says Thomas Gryson, Global Travel Retail Coordinator at VCF. “By investing in engaging, brand-led spaces at the world’s busiest airports, we’re connecting with travellers at moments when they’re most receptive to quality and authenticity.”

Cagdas Cildir, Export Manager at VCF, added, “We are happy to expand our presence and make our products more accessible through China Duty Free, where the appetite for premium cigars is growing rapidly. These new humidors are more than just retail points — they are brand experiences designed to engage discerning consumers in one of the world’s most important travel corridors.”

The launch follows Oliva’s continued investment in experiential retail formats across global duty free, including the introduction of exclusive four-pack travel retail editions earlier this year. Both humidors in Beijing and Shanghai will feature a rotating selection of Oliva’s core lines, such as the award-winning Serie V and Serie O, along with limited editions tailored to the Asian market.

As China’s outbound travel continues its steady rebound, Oliva’s strengthened presence in these strategic locations positions the brand to reach both seasoned cigar enthusiasts and newcomers drawn to craftsmanship, quality, and the spirit of exploration.
