Brazilian authorities have expanded opportunities for duty free operations in the country, with regulations changed in March 2018 to allow border shops in 32 cities. These “Downtown Duty Free Shops” permit both foreign visitors and Brazilian citizens to shop, with locals allowed a monthly allowance of US$500 per person
The travel retail landscape in Brazil is set for a significant transformation as Top Brands Internacional continues its recent spate of growth and acquisition, preparing to establish a major duty free presence in Foz do Iguaçu, one of South America’s premier tourist destinations.
The company’s Neutral by Luryx division has acquired Mazenta’s local operation and secured exclusive rights to operate within Dream Park, positioning itself to capture traffic from the region’s estimated 20 million annual visitors.
“We have a highly aggressive and revolutionary marketing strategy designed to convert a significant portion of this massive tourist flow into Dream Park visitors, and consequently, potential buyers at our store,” said Danny Yohoros, CEO of Top Brands Internacional.

The new Neutral by Luryx store at Dreams Park Show will span two levels, offering a comprehensive duty free shopping experience with an impressive liquor tasting bar, extensive confectionery selection, and dedicated spaces for apparel, accessories and electronics
Set to launch in July 2025, the expansive 2,700-square-meter retail space will be strategically located in a high-visibility roadside location within Dream Park’s 48,000-square-meter entertainment complex, which offers visitors attractions including a five-star hotel, water park, Jurassic Park, Ice Bar and museums.
The Iguaçu area represents a particularly attractive market, ranking as Brazil’s second most visited location behind only Rio de Janeiro. The famous waterfalls, recognized among the world’s largest, draw tourists from throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia.

The ground floor P&C section encompasses nearly 322 square meters of premium retail space, including dedicated areas for make-up bar, perfume, axis brands, cosmetics, skin care and health & beauty. The luxurious layout features three display columns, 25 gondolas, nine promo towers, and 44 wall bays with opportunities for branded installations
Dream Park’s ambitious growth plans align with Top Brands Internacional’s expansion strategy. The entertainment complex, situated just 15 minutes from Foz do Iguaçu International Airport, currently hosts approximately one million visitors annually but aims to increase this to five million in coming years.
The store itself will feature two levels with distinct retail zones. The ground floor will showcase beauty and accessories, including dedicated spaces for cosmetics, skincare, sunglasses and apparel brands such as Adidas and Tommy Hilfiger. The lower level will house an extensive liquor department with tasting bar, alongside confectionery, tobacco, technology and toy sections.
This Brazilian venture represents a significant addition to Top Brands Internacional’s portfolio, bringing its total to over 100 stores across 17 countries and reinforcing its position as one of Latin America’s most dominant travel retail operators.
