Lotte Duty Free Shop has announced that it held a solo fan meeting for South Korean pop group Twice while continuing its global marketing in the New Year. This is the first large-scale event Lotte Duty Free has launched to attract foreign group tourists since the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to a press release, Lotte Duty Free held a fan meeting for Japanese tourists at Sejong University in Seoul under the title of 'Lotte Duty Free Family Premier with Twice.' The aim of the event was to attract Japanese tourists and contribute to the recovery of the tourism industry in line with the increase in tourists between Korea and Japan after Japan resumed visa-free tourism in October last year. According to the Korea Tourism Organization, the number of Japanese tourists visiting Korea is steadily increasing, with 62,000 in November and 84,000 in December.

The fan meeting, along with other attractions such as Twice's stage and talk show, lasted for about two hours and had 500 Japanese fans in attendance. Lotte Duty Free Shop also unveiled the fourth episode of the LDF Original Series ‘LDF TIMES’, the Twice episode, for the first time. The Twice episode, which consists of two episodes, is an advertisement video in the form of a musical movie. This is the story of Twice members who were invited to a luxury party held in Guam and enjoyed duty free shopping at Lotte Duty Free. Starting on February 16, the video will be available in Korean, English, and Japanese on Lotte Duty Free's official SNS channel, and various customer participation events will be held.

The LDF Original Series is a branding campaign launched by Lotte Duty Free. Since October of last year, content featuring Lotte Duty Free’s models has been presented in a relay format. The cumulative number of views of the previously released Stray Kids, Lee Junho, and Aespa series exceeded about 45 million, drawing the attention of global fans.

Roh Jae-seung, head of Lotte Duty Free Marketing Division, said, “As overseas travel is expected to be activated in earnest this year, Lotte Duty Free also plans to take the lead in attracting tourists."
