IAADFS & KickCancerThon: Uniting the global travel retail industry to fight cancer

The International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) is encouraging its members and supporters to take part in the KickCancerThon, based on “an inspiring story of courage and resilience”.

IAADFS notes that following her recent diagnosis with an ultra-rare and aggressive form of cancer, Sinead Moodie, daughter of The Moodie Davitt Report Founder and Chairman Martin Moodie, launched the KickCancerThon.

This extraordinary, global movement challenges teams of all sizes and abilities to participate in any activity – running, walking, cycling, swimming, or even skydiving – to raise funds and awareness while fostering a sense of global unity. "Her journey, as bravely chronicled in the Moodie Davitt Report, is the powerful catalyst driving our collective action."

The International Association of Airport and Duty Free Stores (IAADFS) is channeling this global momentum by formally partnering with GO2 for Lung Cancer to participate in a landmark fundraiser that embraces the spirit of the KickCancerThon.

“This collaboration underscores our industry’s commitment to supporting cancer research and providing aid to patients and their loved ones,” IAADFS stated.

The Main Event: Hollywood 5K Walk/Run and Kite Fly

Mark your calendars for March 14, 2026, as IAADFS and GO2 for Lung Cancer will co-host the Hollywood 5K Walk/Run and Kite Fly in sunny Hollywood, Florida. This event is a central focus of the larger KickCancerThon initiative, creating a unified, vibrant platform for our industry to make a tangible difference.

This special day offers engaging activities for every age and ability level: the official 5K Walk/Run, a kids' dash, live musical performances, and kite flying on the scenic Hollywood beach. Whether you choose to run the 5K, walk it, join us in person to support our efforts, or participate remotely as part of the worldwide KickCancerThon, your involvement is crucial. Every step and every donation help generate vital support for those affected by lung cancer.
