Hamad International's lush indoor tropical garden "ORCHARD" is both a true architectural achievement and sanctuary, offering travelers the chance to shop, relax, dine and breathe easy

Hamad International Airport, a symbol of Qatar's progressive vision, marked a significant milestone this November as it celebrated the first anniversary of “ORCHARD,” a key element of its Phase A expansion. ORCHARD, an indoor tropical garden, has redefined the passenger experience, blending luxury, leisure, and a unique ambiance that transcends traditional airport norms.

At the heart of this state-of-the-art airport, ORCHARD sprawls over 6,000 square meters, offering a serene retreat amidst the bustle of travel. It features over 65 of the airport's 180 world-class retail and dining experiences, all set against a lush green backdrop. This innovative concept has elevated the airport from a mere travel hub to a destination in its own right, where waiting is transformed into an enjoyable, memorable experience.

Something for everyone

For business travelers, ORCHARD has emerged as a sanctuary. Its tranquil environment, dotted with world-first coffee shops and dining experiences, provides a much-needed respite from the rigors of travel. Complementing this are four new lounges, including the Louis Vuitton Lounge in the Al Mourjan Business Lounge – The Garden, and North Plaza lounges – Al Maha Lounge, Oryx Lounge and Gold and Platinum lounge.

Families are not left behind in this immersive experience. Hamad International Airport offers a playground of discovery for families. With art installations, activity nodes and a train connecting various airport sections, the journey becomes an adventure, especially for younger travelers. The first Oreo Café at an airport and two food courts in ORCHARD further enhance this family-friendly environment.

ORCHARD stands out not just for its amenities but also for its architectural splendor. Its column-free grid shell roof, filtering light to sustain the rainforest trees, creates an ambiance of calm and serenity. This architectural marvel has become a place for creating memories, discovering new flavors or indulging in a shopping spree.

Sustainable design

Sustainability is a cornerstone of Hamad International Airport's vision. The airport has achieved Global Sustainability Assessment System Design & Build (GSAS-D&B) 4-Star certifications, with ORCHARD playing a pivotal role in this achievement. This certification underlines the airport's commitment to environmental stewardship and reducing its carbon footprint.

As Hamad International Airport looks to the future, it continues to evolve, with Phase B of its expansion set to further increase capacity to 70 million, and enhance its offerings, with over 95,000 square meters in extension of Concourses D and E and new cargo terminal. Its commitment to delivering a multi-dimensional, world-class experience cements its position as a leading global airport, continually setting new standards in passenger service and airport innovation.
