London-based eyewear company Mondottica will bring its full range to YV Brands’ Alhambra in the Harbour Village at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes. The focus will be on sunglasses from Ted Baker, Vivienne Westwood, Karen Millen and AllSaints brands. Also in Cannes, Mondottica will launch a new collaboration with an A-list celebrity, targeting Gen Z.

Louise Porte, Mondottica’s National Accounts Manager - Sunglasses & Travel Retail, says “Our eyewear reflects the DNA of our licensed brands and delivers products through multiple channels on a global scale. At Mondottica we are living by our mission statement to ‘consciously and authentically take very credible steps to improve the sustainability of our collections and operation as a whole.’ We have a responsibility to not only be aware of our impact on People and Planet but to take actions to reduce or remove any negative impact and create positive change for the future.”

AllSaints, a contemporary British fashion brand offering timeless style, is new to Mondottica and set to launch in Spring/Summer 2024. With a strong focus on sustainability, AllSaints’ wide range of sunglasses have frames made from Acetate Renew, a sustainable material derived from innovative carbon renewal technology that breaks down hard-to-recycle plastic waste
In travel retail, the company has been working through a distributor for in-flight listings since the pandemic. “Pre-Covid, we had a significantly larger and more global in-flight business, so we are looking to build that up again,” says Porte. “We have also worked with Harding Retail for a number of years with a wide variety of brands in the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Southern Hemisphere. We have an established ferry business, working for many years with Brittany Ferries as well as several domestic ferry companies.”

Porte says Mondottica is seeing the most growth in airports, and the company is aiming to extend that business, both in terms of additional brands and innovative products as well as deeper penetration.
“During the TFWA World Exhibition we will aim to increase direct discussions with airlines and also the ferry companies, building on conversations we had at the DFNI 2023 Cruise Conference in Palma de Mallorca in June. This will of course be in addition to consolidating existing relationships and growing the business. We’re really looking forward to a very busy week this year in Cannes!”
