Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport in Romania

Aeroporturi Bucuresti SA, the company operating Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, has announced its intention to call for tenders later this year for the operation of retail, food & beverage and money exchange activities at the airport.

The tenders will cover 21 retail locations and 25 F&B locations with approximately 1500 square meters and 2200 square meters respectively throughout all terminal zones, on landside and airside and in departures and arrivals.

The retail tender will comprise one package for all retail categories including convenience, and the food & beverage will be split in two packages covering multiple locations each. The tenders will be a competitive process starting end of July or beginning of August and bidders will have until middle of October to present their proposals. The airport expects to appoint the winners by the end of November.

Sorin Radu Paun, Director General at Bucharest Airport, said, "The 2023 commercial performance so far gives us confidence that soon we will again see air travel grow back to the pre-pandemic levels and beyond, but we have to be conscious that the pandemic may have changed certain passenger behaviors and we need to be well prepared to serve the post-pandemic traveler. To achieve this, we need the help of our retail partners”.
