Blueprint becomes shareholder in Indivd to accelerate AI transformation of airport shopping
The partnership signals a dynamic step forward in Blueprint’s vision of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the airport shopping experience over the next decade

Blueprint has become a shareholder in Indivd, the Stockholm-based artificial intelligence (AI) technology company is redefining how to analyze and predict shopping behavior.
AI will transform airport ahopping by 2030
The partnership signals a dynamic step forward in Blueprint’s vision of how artificial intelligence is reshaping the airport shopping experience over the next decade; from transactional retail to predictable, hyper-personalized and memorable journeys designed around the traveler. AI is the ultimate game changer, it is profoundly transforming the airport shopping experience.
“By uniting Blueprint’s strategic foresight with Indivd’s patented and GDPR compliant AI technology, we have implemented a powerful capability; tracking and predicting shopping behavior and turning findings into actionable recommendations for airports, retailers and brands. The best part is that this set-up is easy-to-use, cheap to run and comes with the highest degree of accuracy,” says Blueprint Partner Karl Walter.
Blueprint Partner Thomas Kaneko-Henningsen states, “By 2030, the competitive divide in airport retail will be between those hubs that leverage AI to monetize shopping in progressive ways and those that don’t. Together with Indivd, we deliver unique value in terms of advising the airport community on how to engage with traveling customers.”
The global AI market is projected to generate US$1,811,75 billion by 2030 and McKinsey estimates AI could generate between US$400–660 billion annually for retail and consumer goods companies by 2030. According to Forbes, 51% of global shoppers now use AI for price checking, 45% for product inquiries, and 41% for budget shopping.
Tracking airport shopping behavior
Founded in 2017, Indivd has developed a breakthrough patented AI platform that transforms standard in-terminal and in-store 2D camera systems into powerful, privacy-first people-counting and visitor-analytics tools. By anonymizing every individual while maintaining behavioral accuracy, Indivd gives operators deep, real-time insight into how shoppers move, pause, and engage across complex environments such as airport terminals. The technology’s scalability, cost efficiency, 99.11% accuracy and full GDPR compliance have made it a preferred solution for more than 50 forward-looking retailers across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the United States and now the first airport launch is going ahead.
Predicting airport shopping behavior
Indivd’s next-generation AI doesn’t just measure movement, it understands intention. By learning from anonymized behavioral patterns, the technology anticipates how and when travelers are most likely to explore, shop, or pause within an airport journey. Over time, the platform builds a predictive understanding of traveler behavior: higher purchase likelihood, how dwell time correlates with conversion, and how changes in layout or category mix can influence buying decisions.
A shared vision for the next decade
Blueprint’s investment in Indivd is rooted in a shared belief that the future of airport shopping will be defined by data-driven empathy; blending the precision of AI with a human understanding of emotion and intention. For Blueprint, this partnership is about helping the global travel retail community go beyond transaction data to understand what truly drives shopper engagement.
Fredrik Amréus Hammargården, Chief Product Owner of Indivd, comments, “Blueprint brings strategic strength, industry insight and market access. Their deep understanding of airport dynamics, retail evolution, and the traveler mindset will help us accelerate our expansion into airports worldwide. Together, we’re building the foundation for the next era of AI-driven airport intelligence.”

Two strengths, one powerhouse
The partnership unites Indivd’s technological innovation with Blueprint’s deep strategic expertise in airport commerce. Together, the companies help airports evolve into responsive, data-smart environments where technology quietly empowers a more human, enjoyable, and profitable journey:
In-terminal wayfinding: Improving how travelers navigate airside/landside terminals
In-terminal space management: Optimizing space allocation for retail, F&B, duty free, pop-ups, experiential retail zones, lounges, etc.
In-store category management: Optimizing space allocation between brands and product categories
Enhanced store performance: Real-time insights into how in-store retail zones are performing
Analyzing rent level: Adjusting rent per store unit according to turnover, footfall, bounce rates, dwell time, etc.
Future-proofing shopping behavior: Predicting shopping behavior based on historical data
Blueprint Partner Sonja Soskic adds: “Leveraging Blueprint’s and Indivd’s combined capabilities enables the dynamic adaptation of airport retail layouts and designing customer experiences that align with traveler moods and motivations. Ultimately, this means transforming airports into intelligent marketplaces catering to experience-hungry travelers.”
