Avolta joins global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network
On December 3 – International Day of Persons with Disabilities – Avolta underlined the need to create travel experiences that work for everyone

Avolta has joined the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower network.
In a post on LinkedIn, the leading global travel retail and F&B player said, “At Avolta, we believe every traveler deserves to feel understood, supported, and at ease. And today, on December 3 – International Day of Persons with Disabilities – we’re reminded of the importance of creating travel experiences that work for everyone.”
Avolta noted how the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower’s sunflower symbol is a “simple yet powerful symbol helping our teams recognize and assist travelers with non-visible disabilities”.
“Through dedicated Sunflower training, our team members learn to identify the Sunflower symbol and offer thoughtful support, whether that means taking extra time, offering patience, or creating a calmer and more comfortable experience.”
In collaboration with our airport partners such as Heathrow, Rio de Janeiro–Galeão, and Santos Dumont Avolta has embraced the Sunflower program in the UK, Finland and Brazil, where its teams at airports are trained to look out for the Sunflower pin, lanyard, or wristband as a sign that a traveler may need additional understanding.
“Now, by joining the network globally, we’re taking another step in creating a traveler-centric experience; one that celebrates accessibility, empathy, and respect in every interaction,” the company added.
