Takamaka Rum targets global travel retail expansion with SipWell Brands

Takamaka is joining forces with SipWell Brands in travel retail

Seychelles rum producer Takamaka is set to boost global availability through an exclusive travel retail distribution agreement with premium drinks specialist SipWell Brands. The partnership agreement takes effect immediately.

The first and only commercial rum producer in the Seychelles archipelago, Takamaka was founded on Mahe in 2002 by the d’Offay brothers and they now produce a range of rums in three collections that span a blend of molasses and cane rums. Their master blender, Stephen Rioux was awarded the accolade of Blender of the Year by the industry in 2024. 

Founded in 2019, the business already represents a wide range of premium drinks from HINE Cognac, Maison Mirabeau, Lind & Lime Gin and The Lost Explorer Mezcal and Tequilas to Nc’nean, Stauning, FABLE, Isle of Barra, Two Stacks and Kilchoman Whiskies.

The six-strong Seychelles Series includes, white, dark, spiced and infused rums using both coconut and pineapple essences as well as an overproof edition of a classic white rum, bottled at 69% ABV. The St. Andres Series encompasses four bottlings produced through a blend of pot and column distilled cane and molasses rums while Le Clos range features a series of limited-edition single cask, cask strength rums.
