A tribute to Venice: Santa Margherita Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG

Herita Marzotto Wine Estates – formerly Santa Margherita Wine Group – is gearing up to major celebrations at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Red Village, H 18).

The family-owned producer has just been awarded Carbon Neutrality Certification across its entire vineyard estate – a milestone first for any Italian wine company.

At Cannes, Herita will spotlight its travel retail-exclusive Santa Margherita Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG, following its debut at TFWA Asia Pacific earlier this year. The company will also share details of high-profile activations with leading travel retailers across Europe, designed to support the launch and drive premium visibility in the channel.

Giacomo Marzotto, Herita Marzotto Wine Estates Export Director, said, “2025 has been an exceptional year for us. We celebrated our 90th anniversary with a major rebrand, and now we have achieved a remarkable first for the Italian wine sector with Carbon Neutrality Certification. This milestone underlines our deep commitment to sustainability and good practices, while setting a benchmark for others in the industry. To say we are proud is an understatement. That pride extends to our latest launch – the Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore DOCG – created exclusively for travel retail, a channel of growing importance for Herita Marzotto. I believe this Prosecco highlights our commitment to the sector and paves the way for future exclusive expressions.”

More than a premium sparkling wine, this limited-edition release is a tribute to la dolce vita and to Venice itself. The packaging and label celebrate the city’s architecture, reflections, and iconic window designs, underscoring Santa Margherita’s values of heritage, authenticity, and sustainable design.

“This release conveys not just exclusivity and authenticity, but also cultural depth and refined design,” Giacomo Marzotto added. “It offers travelers the chance to bring home a piece of enduring Italian beauty and craftsmanship.”

He noted the success of airport activations already in place at Rome Fiumicino International Airport and at Marco Polo International Airport in Venice with Lagardère Travel Retail, and at Milan Malpensa Airport with Avolta. They are supported by brand ambassadors and live tastings, alongside two advertising LED walls at Marco Polo International Airport showing the new Santa Margherita travel Exclusive limited edition. Distribution continues to expand into further select locations worldwide.

Beyond Prosecco: Presence at Cannes

Herita Marzotto Wine Estates will also act as the official wine sponsor of the TFWA Lounge in Cannes, where Santa Margherita wines will feature on a dedicated promotional island.

At the Exhibition itself, the group will host curated tastings not only of the new Prosecco but also of standout expressions from its ten estates, spanning iconic Italian terroirs and extending to Oregon’s acclaimed Roco Winery.

The group will also be celebrating its recent win at The Drinks Business Global Travel Retail Masters 2025 awards, where its travel retail-exclusive Prosecco Valdobbiadene Superiore Brut claimed a Gold Medal.
