Moët Hennessy Travel Retail's Dom Pérignon x Takashi Murakami experience - in partnership with DUTY ZERO by cdf is an eye-catcher at Hong Kong International Airport

Moët Hennessy Travel Retail has partnered with DUTY ZERO by cdf to launch a striking new Dom Pérignon x Takashi Murakami experience at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).

A large-scale artistic takeover transforms HKIA into a vivid canvas of creativity, marking the pinnacle of the Maison’s latest collaboration and the largest showcase of the campaign in Travel Retail Asia Pacific. Taking place from November to December 2025, the activation amplifies the global Dom Pérignon x Murakami partnership through a spectacular, airport-wide transformation that merges art, movement, and luxury craftsmanship.

The HKIA installation extends far beyond a single space. Across the East Hall North and East Hall South concourses, travelers will be immersed into Murakami’s world of color, form and motion.

Moët Hennessy Travel Retail has taken over HKIA’s escalators, and premium media zones, as well as DUTY ZERO’s 3D digital screens transforming the terminal into an evolving tableau of Murakami’s iconic smiling flowers, a symbol of joy and creative vitality. This multi-zone activation transforms Hong Kong International Airport into a living gallery, while redefining that a champagne encounter in travel retail can be an immersive experience that brings the Maison’s creative spirit into the traveler’s journey.

Murakami’s flowers animate the journey, blooming along the escalators and glass balustrades to create the sense of a kinetic garden blooming in motion. Between the two escalators, the central feature area will be re-dressed with Murakami’s signature flower, while the top of the escalators will feature a large-scale installation inspired by Murakami’s iconic motif that will offer travelers a striking visual welcome and an invitation to discover Dom Pérignon’s limited editions below.

An Immersive Airport Takeover

The Hong Kong activation is the regional crescendo of a global campaign that marks the beginning of Dom Pérignon’s ‘Creation is an Eternal Journey’ chapter. Conceived as an exploration of timeless creativity, the series brings together seven cultural visionaries – from artists and musicians to chefs and directors – each reinterpreting the Maison’s creative philosophy in their own medium. Among them, artist Takashi Murakami stands out as a collaborator whose art embodies both heritage and innovation, making him a natural partner for Dom Pérignon’s creative dialogue.

The collaboration between Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon and Takashi Murakami is an encounter at the crossroads of tradition and invention. Both creators see heritage not as something to be preserved, but as a living gesture to be reinterpreted. Murakami’s aesthetic, grounded in his celebrated Superflat movement, reframing the codes of classical Japanese art through the lens of contemporary culture – where manga, consumerism, and digital art meet minimalism and emotional depth. His signature smiling flowers, instantly recognizable symbols of joy and renewal, conceal layers of poetic tension: a meditation on the surface and the soul, the eternal and the fleeting.

The Limited Editions: Vintage 2015 and Rosé Vintage 2010

The creative dialogue between Dom Pérignon and Murakami takes tangible form in two limited editions: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010. These bottles reimagine the Maison’s minimalist aesthetic through Murakami’s vivid, pop-inspired lens.

For Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015, the dark, elegant bottle and coffret are enlivened by Murakami’s smiling flowers, their joyful faces blooming around the iconic shield. The design symbolizes the blossoming of nature and creation like a conversation between restraint and exuberance, refinement and radiance.

For Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010, the palette deepens, with the flowers taking on a more intense, dreamlike quality that mirrors the bold personality of the rosé itself. Together, the two designs form a collectible pairing that are radiant expressions of Dom Pérignon’s dual pursuit of harmony and daring. When placed side by side, the coffrets create a modular floral scene, inviting collectors to engage, assemble, and extend the experience beyond the bottle.

Through these creations, Dom Pérignon and Murakami reveal a shared conviction that beauty lies in transformation, that both art and winemaking are acts of continual renewal. Murakami’s harmony of lightness and depth mirrors Dom Pérignon’s pursuit of balance, where nature’s raw expression is shaped into emotion. Together, they reaffirm that creation is not repetition, but the ever-evolving art of reinvention.

Nicolas Gilardenghi, Managing Director, Moët Hennessy Travel Retail, remarked, “The Dom Pérignon x Murakami collaboration is a dialogue between two worlds of creation – one through art, the other through craftsmanship. At Hong Kong International Airport, this dialogue takes shape as an experience that unites emotion, imagination and savoir-faire. Through our partnership with DUTY ZERO by cdf and the Airport Authority Hong Kong, we’ve brought the Maison’s spirit of harmony and reinvention to life in a setting that reaches millions of travelers.

“This activation embodies what luxury in travel retail should aspire to: immersive, collaborative and culturally resonant.”

Enzo Li, Deputy General Manager, DUTY FREE by cdf, added, “We see travel retail as a place of transformation. This collaboration with Moët Hennessy brings a new dimension of artistry to our retail landscape, inviting travelers to pause, look up, and engage with creativity in motion. As travelers mark this season of celebration, the Dom Pérignon x Murakami limited editions also capture the joy of gifting, where even a moment of purchase becomes an expression of creativity and connection. By curating experiences that unite global luxury houses, visionary artists and world-class airports, we continue to elevate travel retail into a space where culture and commerce meet seamlessly.”
