After three months of construction, Lotte Duty Free has reopened its Gimhae Airport Store in Busan, South Korea. The reopening took place on June 16, with a renewed focus on luxury perfumes and eyewear.

The 992-square-meter space incorporates two design concepts and is the only store at Gimhae International Airport that sells perfumes and cosmetics. Over 120 brands are available at the shop including Chanel, Estée Lauder and Cheong Kwan Jang.

Plus, top shelf perfumes such as Le Labo, Maison Margiela and Penhaligons and domestic cosmetic lines like Cha &Pak and Dr. Jart have strengthened its respective category offerings.

To celebrate the reopening, Lotte Duty Free Shop is offering a variety of in-store promotions at the location. The first 500 customers who spend more than US$50 at the Gimhae Airport branch will receive mask packs.

Depending on spend, Busan Gijang Brick Campus tickets and Yoshigo Photo Exhibition tickets are up for grabs as gifts with purchase. Also, depending on the number of items purchased by category, an immediate discount of 20,000 won (US$15.58) is provided when purchasing over US$400 on premium cosmetics such as La Mer and La Prairie.

Park Eun-ji, Manager of Lotte Duty Free Gimhae Airport, said, “We have completed the renewal work in line with the recovery of travel demand and started to welcome customers in earnest.”

The number of international departures from Gimhae Airport between January and May of this year was approximately 1.27 million, an increase of about 140 times vs. the same period last year. Compared to the same period in 2019, before the pandemic, it is showing a steep recovery, recording about 56%.
