La Martiniquaise-Bardinet expands Cutty Sark range with Cutty Sark 17, a 17-year-old expression
This limited-edition blend combines cask complexity with the Cutty Sark brand's adventurous character

La Martiniquaise-Bardinet has introduced Cutty Sark 17, a 17-year-old blended Scotch whisky that builds on the brand’s legacy of exploration. The release combines whiskies matured in three distinct cask types to deliver a rich, layered profile that balances fruit, spice, and smoothness.
Cutty Sark 17 combines Highland and Speyside single malts matured in sherry and port casks with Lowland grain whisky aged in first-fill bourbon casks. The whiskey offers aromas of candied orange peel, red cherries, plums, and chocolate, with subtle spice. On the palate, oak notes are accompanied by hints of baked bread and cappuccino, with a touch of cocoa. The finish is long, with lingering spice and soft notes of oak and malt. The expression is bottled at 42.3% ABV.
The whiskey is presented in a black bottle set inside a matching black box, highlighted with golden lettering and Cutty Sark’s signature yellow – perfect for gifting and collecting. Rope and eyelet details nod to the brand’s nautical heritage, while the rope-effect stopper adds a distinctive finishing touch.
Master Blender Stephen Woodcock said: “Cutty Sark has always been a whiskey for those seeking adventure, and Cutty Sark 17 is a sumptuous voyage into new depths of taste. To create this rich blend, we first selected fine, aged Highland and Speyside single malts, and married them together for 17 months in hand-picked sherry and port casks. Then we united those malts with Lowland grain whiskey matured in first-fill bourbon casks, for exceptional creaminess. Bold, fruity and spicy, our 17 is an ocean of complexity, just waiting to be explored.”
International Senior Brand Manager Manon Brochet added: “We’re thrilled to be sharing Cutty Sark 17 with the boldest whiskey fans around. Born from our pioneering spirit, this whiskey stands out for its complex character, exceptional quality and stunning packaging. It is an ideal gift for every whiskey connoisseur with adventure in their DNA.”
Cutty Sark 17 is aimed at collectors and enthusiasts, highlighting the craftsmanship of La Martiniquaise-Bardinet and the brand’s character developed over more than a century. Named after the three-mast tea clipper, Cutty Sark was first launched in 1923 during the height of cocktail culture and Prohibition-era in the United States and has since remained a globally recognized whiskey.
