The retailer's Main Shop at Copenhagen Airport

The partnership between Gebr. Heinemann and Copenhagen Airport will be extended by ten years. The corresponding contract was signed this week at the Headquarters of Gebr. Heinemann in Hamburg. The family-owned retailer and distributor has been present at Copenhagen Airport since 2007.

“We have an exceptionally stable and trusting relationship with Copenhagen Airport. This is the basis for our constant economic development at this location. We are proud of our strong Nordic footprint and are delighted to extend the contract with the airport. It is an important location for us, which we will continue to expand and improve, as we have done in the past," says Florian Seidel, Chief Sales Officer at Gebr. Heinemann.

“This renewed contract not only reaffirms our commitment to grow together, but also brings a greater sense of security for investments. As part of this partnership extension, we will elevate the shopping experience for our customers through an expanded sales area offering an enhanced shopping experience, thus making sure that Copenhagen Airport remains a top location for travel retail," says Katrin Bamler, Managing Director at Gebr. Heinemann Retail ApS.

“It has been a priority for Copenhagen Airport to continue the close and trusting cooperation we have had with Gebr. Heinemann since 2007. With the major expansion of the Terminal area between Gates B and C we have the opportunity to continue innovating and growing together," adds Peter Krogsgaard, Chief Commercial Officer at Copenhagen Airport.

The retailer operates a total of six shops at the airport. The largest is its Main Shop, which covers 2,600 square meters and will be expanded up to 4,000 square meters by 2026. This move will create more space – especially for regional brands and products across all categories, which are highly requested by travelers.

According to location and size, other stores are as follows: Pier A at 409 square meters, Pier B at 203 square meters), Pier C at 353 square meters, T3 at 159 square meters and its Arrival Shop at 133 square meters.

Featuring local products and a distinctive Scandinavian look and feel, part of the shop concept is to create a strong connection to the region; ambitious sustainability targets are also on the agenda. These are to be defined in close cooperation with the airport.
