A big win for Nicaraguan rum Flor de Caña, known for its sustainably produced premium rum, as it was awarded "2019 Best Rum Distillery". This is the highest distinction granted by the International Rum Conference (IRC) at a global level, due to the quality of its products and because its distillery runs on 100% renewable energy. The IRC is one of the main rum conferences worldwide, bringing together international experts and personalities to highlight and award quality and excellence within the industry.
Still running with the momentum from winning "Best Rum Producerof the Year" in 2017 by the International Wine and Spirit Competition(IWSC) in the rum is known for being Fair Trade certified. From a 5thgeneration single family estate, it's enriched by an active volcano, naturallyaged without sugar and distilled 100% with renewable energy.
