Lotte Duty Free's barrier-free kiosks aim to enhance digital device accessibility

Lotte Duty Free has introduced barrier-free kiosks at the duty-free pick-up areas at Incheon International Airport and Gimhae International Airport.

This measure – in accordance with the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Prohibition of Discrimination against Persons with Disabilities and Remedies for their Rights, passed in 2023 – aims to enhance digital device accessibility and ensure that all customers, including those with disabilities, can use duty-free services without discrimination.

The barrier-free kiosks are designed to enable information-vulnerable individuals, such as people with disabilities and the elderly, to easily and conveniently use the unmanned terminals for duty-free pick-up services. Equipped with a monitor lift function that adjusts the screen to the eye level of wheelchair users, the kiosks also feature voice guidance for visually impaired and low-vision users, as well as high-contrast and zoom modes, further reducing user barriers.

Lotte Duty Free has installed 14 kiosks at the pick-up areas at Incheon International Airport and Gimhae International Airport, with plans to expand to Gimpo International Airport within the first half of this year. Furthermore, in line with the introduction of barrier-free kiosks, the user interface was revamped to optimize the customer experience and enhance efficiency during the duty-free product pickup process.

A Lotte Duty Free representative stated, "We have introduced dedicated terminals to ensure Lotte Duty Free customers can conveniently utilize the duty-free product pickup service. We will continue to improve the digital experience to enhance customer satisfaction with duty-free shopping across all online and offline areas."

Lotte Duty Free has been conducting an ESG support project for its partners for three consecutive years since October 2025, in collaboration with the Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership. Since becoming the first company in the industry to participate in this project in 2023, the company has contributed KRW50 million (US$34,550) annually to the Mutual Growth Fund. The company is also leading the way in creating social value by developing customized ESG indicators for each partner SME, providing training, and providing customized consulting services.
