Dubai Duty Free flies high for its 40th anniversary
Dubai Duty Free has chosen an innovative way to jumpstart its 40th anniversary celebrations, with the leading airport retailer featuring in a skydive at Skydive Dubai in Mina Seyahi.
To mark the milestone anniversary a professional skydiver from Skydive Dubai ascended to 5,500ft above Skydive Dubai Palm Dropzone and jumped at 60mph through the air. Fitted with a red banner – measuring 3x5 metres bearing Dubai Duty Free’s 40th Anniversary logo and the line ‘Celebrating 40 years of retailing service’, the skydiver sailed over 80 assembled Dubai Duty Free employees, headed by Salah Tahlak, Joint COO of Dubai Duty Free. They gathered in a ‘40’ formation on the ground as they all looked up and waved the Dubai Duty Free 40th anniversary flaglets before touch down.
Commenting on the activity, Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO, Colm McLoughlin said, “This is really an exciting way to kick off our milestone 40th anniversary celebrations and this is just the beginning. Plans are in place to make this a memorable occasion for all our customers, partners, suppliers and employees.”
For the final act, the skydiver folded the banner and handed it over to Salah Tahlak before the group photo. A professional skydiving cinematographer jumped along with the skydiver to capture it all on a video, which will be posted in all Dubai Duty Free social media platforms.
