Looking to attract group customers from China, Japan and Southern Asia, Lotte Duty Free held a briefing on March 14 at the Lotte Cinema World Tower in Songpa-gu, Seoul.

In line with the lifting of restrictions, the invitation-based event is the first travel agency event organized by Lotte Duty Free in three years. The four-hour session welcomed close to 180 travel agency officials and guides and aimed to strengthen cooperative relationships with travel agencies.

Lotte Duty Free Shop, Lotte Hotel, Lotte World's shopping and tourism infrastructure, explanations of customer services, introduction of store brands and movie viewing were arranged in this order. Domestic cosmetics brands such as Belif, Bia, Amuse, Numbers In, and Puy participated to publicize the excellence of Korean cosmetics, and supported product experiences and event giveaways through sample distribution.

With this event serving as a jumping off point, Lotte Duty Free plans to develop joint marketing activities such as developing travel package products and expanding affiliate services to create synergy with affiliates such as Lotte Hotel and Lotte World.

According to a press release, prior to this event, Lotte Duty Free completed its model lineup since the second half of 2022 and is conducting global marketing to attract foreign tourists. The retailer also launched its "Original Series," which features the characteristics of K-content including short dramas and musicals. In February, it held an exclusive fan meeting with girl group Twice, the model for Lotte Duty Free, and directly attracted 500 Japanese tourists with a travel agency.

Namgung-pyo, Head of Lotte Duty Free, Promotion Division, said, “As the number of international travelers has been rapidly recovering to 60-70 percent of the pre-COVID-19 level, Lotte Duty Free will continue to attract tourists based on partnerships with travel agencies, and Lotte Duty Free will go beyond shopping destinations to become essential tourism destinations. I will try to become a course,” he said.

Meanwhile, Lotte Duty Free is also holding events for Korean customers, preparing for an increase in overseas travel. As part of its Spring promotion "Awakening Spring," various benefits are available such as discounts up to 80% on products of international brands including Stuart Weitzman and Valli.

Depending on the purchase amount, Lotte Duty Free downtown stores offer up to KRW 3.2 million in LDF PAY ($US 2,500) which can be used like cash at Lotte Duty Free stores, and instant discounts up to KRW 140,000 (US$100) at Incheon Airport stores.

Plus, customers who purchase more than $250 at Lotte Internet Duty Free Shop or more than $1,000 at Lotte Duty Free Downtown receive a Lodging Voucher for Signiel Busan by lottery.
