Motta Internacional unveils luxury retail transformation at Panama’s Tocumen airport

A dual-concept boutique featuring TUMI and Longchamp Paris caters to travelers seeking premium luggage and accessories
Transforming airport transit into a premium shopping experience, Motta Internacional and Attenza Duty Free have launched an ambitious luxury retail development in Panama’s Tocumen International Airport. The new Luxury Avenue in Terminal 2 represents a significant evolution in the region’s travel retail landscape, creating a dedicated high-end shopping destination.
The new luxury promenade represents a significant milestone in Tocumen’s retail strategy, presenting passengers with a select proposal of boutiques featuring accessories, leather goods, watches, jewelry, shoes and apparel. This carefully curated collection of high-end brands caters to discerning international travelers seeking premium shopping experiences.

Tory Burch's accessories boutique offers travelers a sophisticated selection of the brand's signature handbags, shoes and accessories
The development began with Tory Burch opening its accessories boutique on September 11, 2024 – the brand’s first free-standing airport location in the region. This expansion builds upon Tory Burch’s established presence in Latin America, which began with its first boutique at Iguatemi in São Paulo in 2012.
Distinctive design
At the heart of Tocumen’s luxury transformation is a renewed focus on creating distinctive retail environments that reflect each brand’s heritage and aesthetic. The Tory Burch boutique exemplifies this approach with a façade distinguished by a unique parquet pattern crafted in ceramic tile and screens displaying seasonal campaign imagery.
The interior space maintains the residential feel characteristic of all Tory Burch retail locations. The geometric pattern on the façade is echoed on the floor, while the sophisticated furnishings include a Caitlin McGauley floral pattern wall covering, a custom green tufted rug and velvet egg chairs – creating an immersive brand experience beyond typical airport retail.
Heritage meets innovation
The expansion continued on October 3rd with the opening of a dual-concept Montblanc and Tag Heuer boutique. This innovative retail space offers two iconic accessories brands under one roof, complementing the overall shopping experience for travelers visiting what is often referred to as the hub of the Americas.

The Montblanc shop-in-shop celebrates the brand’s iconic Meisterstück line
The Tag Heuer shop-in-shop features a design that blends sleek modernity with elements that pay homage to the brand’s rich heritage and motorsport history. A palette of deep blues and modern metallic finishes complement several key TAG Heuer watch collections such as Formula 1, Aquaracer and Carrera.
Expanding the portfolio
November saw the opening of another dual-concept store featuring TUMI and Longchamp Paris. Located amongst other high-luxury fashion and lifestyle brands in Terminal 2, this boutique caters to travelers seeking premium luggage and accessories.
The TUMI section showcases the brand’s manifest concept – a clean, modern and sophisticated layout that is instantly recognizable and inviting. The store offers TUMI’s iconic collections, including 19 Degree, Alpha and Alpha Bravo.
The Longchamp space creates a distinctly Parisian apartment atmosphere. Inspired by the brand’s origins in 1948 Paris, the design creates a warm and cozy environment that reflects Longchamp’s savoir faire legacy, energy and optimism. Every space has its own ambiance, from the entryway with its high desk referencing an authentic craftsman table, to the dedicated “library” wall for the brand’s iconic Le Pliage collection, energized by shades of Longchamp green.
Completing the experience
The luxury retail expansion was further enhanced in December with the opening of a Polo Ralph Lauren boutique. This addition complements Motta’s luxury retail space at the new terminal, offering a select apparel collection in keeping with the season’s trends.

The Polo Ralph Lauren boutique in Terminal 2 offers a carefully curated seasonal apparel collection, reinforcing the brand's 50-year legacy of authentic, timeless style that resonates with international travelers
For more than 50 years, Ralph Lauren has built a reputation and distinctive image across a wide range of products, brands, distribution channels and international markets. The company’s brand names, including Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Collection, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Polo Ralph Lauren, Double RL, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Polo Ralph Lauren Children and Chaps, among others, constitute one of the world’s most widely recognized families of consumer brands.
This strategic expansion of luxury retail at Tocumen International Airport reflects a broader trend in airport commercial development, where operators are increasingly focusing on creating premium retail environments that can compete with high-street shopping destinations while providing experiences uniquely tailored to international travelers.
