Moët Hennessy Travel Retail introduces the experimental Glenmorangie Wonder Machine

The Wonder Machine is delighting travellers at Glenmorangie’s boutique at London Heathrow Airport, Terminal 2, Hainan Whisky Museum, Mova Mall in China, and Scotland’s Edinburgh Airport. Coming next in South Korea’s Incheon Airport in Seoul, and more Wonder Machines to come...
Inspired by the imagination of Glenmorangie’s whisky creators, Moët Hennessy Travel Retail has unveiled today the experimental Wonder Machine. This playful, personalized experience invites travelers on an unprecedented sensory quest to find their delicious whisky match.
Immersing curious drinkers in a kaleidoscope of the sights, sounds and scents of the inventive Highland single malt Scotch’s world, the Wonder Machine promises to spark travelers’ imaginations and introduce each to a bottling which perfectly suits their taste.
The members of Glenmorangie’s Whisky Creation Team, led by Dr Bill Lumsden, are endlessly searching for new flavor possibilities. Combining their “What if...?” approach to whisky with the finest casks from around the world, they bring new layers to Glenmorangie’s signature style. And now, for the first time, the Wonder Machine offers travelers the chance to experiment for themselves.
Entering the single malt’s world of flavor, they are able to explore the aromatic personalities of creations in the Travel Retail range – until they discover their personal whisky match.

Wonder Machine at Glenmorangie’s boutique at London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2
Revealed initially at Glenmorangie’s wondrous boutique at London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 2, the Wonder Machine has the look and feel of a fantastical factory, where delicious experiments come to life. It merges sophisticated physical and digital technologies to draw travelers into a sensory playground. First, using a touchpad encased in a copper casing shaped like a still, users pick their whisky personality from a selection inspired by Glenmorangie’s devotion to deliciousness, craftsmanship and experimentation. Then they are whisked away on a personalized visual tour of the whisky’s more wonderful world, via an immersive display.
Next, the machine’s cogs, dials and belts playfully whirr into action onscreen, as if users are crafting the whisky there and then. They select a favorite scent from six aromas, each hinting at the essence of each whisky. All crafted by Glenmorangie’s Master Blender and Head of Whisky Creation Gillian Macdonald and an expert perfumier, these scents include roasting coffee beans, a nod to Glenmorangie Signet’s mocha notes and the melting toffee tones of Glenmorangie Elementa.

Travelers can also experiment with six soundscapes, each reflecting a whisky’s spirit and flavor. For instance, they might prefer the sound of a heartbeat, reminiscent of Glenmorangie The Original – the single malt at the heart of Glenmorangie’s whisky making. Or the sizzle of coffee beans tumbling in the heat, which hints at Glenmorangie Signet’s dark deliciousness.
Skillfully analyzing their favorites, the Wonder Machine ingeniously matches each traveler to their perfect whisky in Glenmorangie’s Travel Retail range. Finally, they can scent this single malt’s complex aromatic signature, discover more about their whisky match and explore a cocktail recommendation, which is connected to WeChat in China. They are then invited to taste the whisky’s flavors at the boutique’s bar.
