200 Years Young: The Macallan pop-up at Lotte Duty Free in Singapore Changi Airport highlights this special milestone
The Macallan is celebrating its 200th anniversary of whisky mastery and craftsmanship by releasing TIME : SPACE COLLECTION, comprising two unique releases to recognise this special milestone.
The first is TIME : SPACE, which holds two bottles – a 1940 vintage, bottled at a remarkable 84 years old and the first release from the new The Macallan Distillery, distilled in 2018 and bottled at five years old. The second from the collection is TIME : SPACE Mastery, a unique, single malt Scotch whisky that pays tribute to past whisky masters through a diverse inventory of the most exceptional oak casks.
The collection, which was previously unveiled during The Heart of The Spirit immersive event in Singapore in September, is now available in Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 3 Departure Hall, supported with an eye-catching pop-up that will highlight both the TIME : SPACE Mastery and The Macallan Colour Collection, the brand’s travel exclusive range of exceptional age statement whiskies. The pop-up, in collaboration with Changi Airport Group and Lotte Duty Free Singapore, is running from November 13 to 12 January 2025, inviting travellers to discover the brand’s rich history and heritage, together with the limited release bottling.

Recognizing a Milestone: The TIME : SPACE COLLECTION
The TIME : SPACE COLLECTION’s releases are symbolic expressions of The Macallan, shaped by an ongoing dedication to incomparable craftsmanship and creativity, while highlighting a deep connection to nature. The Macallan has designed both creations to depict nature’s protection of its future, while also representing time travel with the past and future combined.
The Macallan TIME : SPACE Collection includes 12, 15 and 18-year-old expressions
The first is TIME : SPACE, a dual chamber vessel that includes the oldest whisky released by The Macallan at 84 Years Old, as well as a second single malt that marks the first from the brand’s new distillery. The second release, TIME : SPACE Mastery, is a unique single malt with layers of complexity that embraces The Macallan’s 200 years of history.
TIME : SPACE Mastery is a one-of-a-kind The Macallan release, celebrating the craft of whisky mastery by featuring 14 exceptional cask types, creating layers of complexity with an incredible depth of aroma, texture and flavor.

With whisky drawn from the breadth of The Macallan’s exceptional inventory, there are distinct influences from European Oak sherry seasoned casks, American Oak sherry seasoned casks, American Oak Bourbon casks and the finest refill casks. Together, they create layers of complexity and a voluptuous depth in aroma, flavors and texture. This expression encompasses The Macallan’s whisky mastery and highlights the unwavering commitment to protecting and nurturing this craft for the future.
The whisky is housed in a crafted circular vessel representing the circle of life and the ongoing journey from the past to the future. In contrast to the subtilty of the exterior, the presentation case bursts to life with a vibrant red color – synonymous with The Macallan - and 200 spikes, for the brand’s bicentennial year, represent how nature guards what is most precious and fragile. The intricate details are created using techniques stemming from the art of origami, to protect what is most valued for The Macallan – its incomparable whisky.

The Macallan TIME : SPACE Collection pop-up
The Macallan TIME : SPACE Mastery will be available at The Macallan TIME : SPACE Collection pop-up at Singapore Changi Airport from November 13 to January 12 2025. The attention-grabbing silhouette is adorned with red spikes to depict nature’s protection of its future and to reflect the brand’s deep connection with Mother Nature. Consumer touchpoints in the pop-up include an engaging and immersive virtual reality experience – The Heart of the Spirit – that invites customers to discover more about The Macallan through a state-of-the-art headset as well as other dedicated brand discovery areas.
Consumers will also enjoy unique gifting rituals whenever a purchase is made and have a chance to taste some exclusive whiskies at this pop-up. The pop-up will also carry the travel exclusive The Macallan Colour Collection, five age statements single malt Scotch whiskies that comprise the 12, 15, 18, 21 and 30 Years Old and other prestige products such as The Macallan M Collection.

Tasting Notes
TIME: SPACE Mastery – SG$1,850 (US$1,400): Nose: Medjool dates, sweet baked figs and rich milk chocolate accompanied by delicate hints of honey and tropical character, reminiscent of dried mango and ripe papaya. Encapsulated by complex sweet oak. Palate: A real sweetness is evident with sherry-soaked dried fruits, orange marmalade and honeycomb. Soft spiced notes of ginger and cinnamon develop. Finish: Bursts of caramelized pineapple and creamy vanilla linger with the exquisite balance of subtle dark chocolate and coffee.

The Macallan Colour Collection 12 Years Old: Nose: Sweet oak, lemon peel with vanilla biscuits and pear. Palate: Syrup sponge with citrus curd, orchard fruits and a hint of nutmeg. Finish: Medium with sweet oak and citrus peel.
The Macallan Colour Collection 15 Years Old: Nose: Gentle oak, vanilla toffee, candied orange peel and crystalized ginger. Palate: Sweet citrus pastry with creamy vanilla custard and baked peaches. Finish: Medium with toasted oak, citrus and cinnamon.
The Macallan Colour Collection 18 Years Old: Nose: Clementine, pana cotta, baked apples with sultanas sweet oak. Palate: Vanilla sponge, milk chocolate with orange, citrus peel, oak and honeycomb. Finish: Medium with sweet oak and orange.
The Macallan Colour Collection 21 Years Old: Nose: Crème Brûlée, candied orange and lemon, sweet aged oak with caramelized pineapple. Palate: Tropical fruits, candied ginger, coffee creme, hazelnuts, dark chocolate orange and cardamom. Finish: Medium with balanced oak spices.
The Macallan Colour Collection 30 Years Old: Nose: Pineapple, dried mango, caramelized banana, crème brûlée with sweet aged oak and orange oil. Palate: Tropical fruits with almond, touch of cinnamon and nutmeg intertwined with creamy baked custard and crystallized lemon peel. Finish: Medium with sweet woodspice and tropical fruits.
