Bottega Gold Extra Brut launches with Avolta

Italian winemaker Bottega is launching its Bottega Gold Extra Brut exclusively in stores operated by Avolta.

Bottega Gold Extra Brut is a Vintage 2022 sparkling wine and part of the ‘Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection’, a project for the enhancement of Prosecco created by Sandro Bottega over ten years ago. This exceptional vintage will be available in Avolta stores worldwide.

According to the partners, the wine is the premium version of Bottega Gold and is in line with Avolta’s objective of seeking exclusive products for its duty free and travel retail outlets, “to surprise and delight its customers and make travelers happier”.

The gold bottle with its characteristic shape has the unmistakable mirror finish, which includes the front label as well. Its quality, together with the striking packaging, makes this product a prestigious gift in the style of the centuries-old Italian wine-making tradition and the best ‘Made in Italy’ design.

David de Miguel, Global Head of Liquor at Avolta, said, “The customer is at the heart of everything we do, and an intrinsic element of our strategy is to surprise and delight our customers and make travelers happier. One of the ways we do this is by offering products which are unique or exclusive. Bottega Gold Extra Brut takes the Prosecco experience to the next level and we are confident that this exclusive product will be well received by the many customers visiting our stores worldwide.”

Bottega Gold Extra Brut is a Prosecco characterized by unique features that elevate the quality of this sparkling wine to the most exceptional standards: selection of a single vineyard in the prime-quality area of the UNESCO Heritage Prosecco Hills; Glera grapes cultivated according to Bottega’s sustainability philosophy and harvested only by hand at the moment of their perfect ripening; pre-fermentative cryomaceration, to fully preserve the organoleptic charge of the grapes; maturation in new ‘horizontal’ autoclaves, the result of the most advanced technological research applied to quality oenology and long fermentation (over six months, while Prosecco normally takes around one 1 month) to obtain a wine with an exceptional organoleptic profile.

In short, a top-quality Prosecco in the oenological world that lacks nothing when compared to other world-renowned varieties of sparkling wines.

Bottega Gold Extra Brut has a straw yellow color with golden reflections and fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, notes of golden apple, ripe pear, white flowers, wisteria and acacia introduce hints of bread crust. On the palate it is dry, intriguing and persistent with a good savoriness reflected in the minerality. This wine pairs perfectly with raw fish and oysters. It is also excellent with mushroom risotto, tagliatelle with sea bass ragout or courgettes and prawns, baked sea bass on pea purée.

Bottega Gold Extra Brut, together with the wines of the ‘Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection’, was presented on October 10 as a world preview in Piazza del Duomo in Milan, during a vertical tasting of Prosecco Bottega.
