Lotte Duty Free has partnered with Lotte Chilsung Beverage to open a pop-up store called “Like the First Time X Crush Somen Pocha” at Now in Myeong-dong until September 18

Lotte Duty Free announced today that it has partnered with Lotte Chilsung Beverage to open a pop-up store called “Like the First Time X Crush Somen Pocha” at Now in Myeong-dong in Myeong-dong, Seoul. The pop-up store will be open until September 18.

The pop-up, which is a collaboration between Lotte Duty Free and Lotte Chilsung Beverage, is based on the concept of “FIRST KRUSH” somen pocha using the liquor brands “First Like” and “Crush.” Lotte Duty Free decorated the entire area of Now In Myeong-dong with Korean-style food stalls so that both Koreans and foreigners could experience the somen culture. In addition, the store has prepared a variety of activities for visitors to enjoy, including a photo zone and a rest area, as well as a 'Mya Bell like the first time' machine that allows visitors to create their own phrases.

The first floor is operated as a “SOMAC Bar” that sells various alcoholic beverages and serves simple snacks. Visitors to Now In Myeong-dong can purchase a variety of alcoholic beverages, including Crush Draft Beer, Sommac, Mojito Cocktail, New Apricot Earl Grey Highball, and Cloud Clear Zero, a non-alcoholic beer. On the second floor, you can find over 100 different LOTTE Chilsung Beverage merchandise (related products), including crush beer glasses, soju dispensers, figurines, cushions, and more. Furthermore, the rooftop has a photo wall of “Like the First Time” and “Crush” models to enhance the customer experience.

Various benefits are also offered to commemorate the pop-up. For visitors to Now In Myeongdong, we will hold a roulette event with prizes and provide special rewards that can be used at Lotte Duty Free Myeong-dong Main Store. In addition, all customers who purchase Lotte Chilsung beverage products will receive a 150ml mini bottle of Chilsung cider, and customers who purchase products worth KRW 20,000 (US$15) or more will receive a high-end beer glass.

“We have prepared the Somen Pocha pop-up with Lotte Chilsung Beverage to introduce Korean alcoholic beverage culture to the many foreign tourists visiting Myeong-dong, and for office workers who love somen,” said Nam Gung-pyo, Head of New Growth Business at LOTTE Duty Free. ”We will continue to provide differentiated experiences to our customers with various pop-up stores at LOTTE Duty Free Now in Myeong-dong.”

Meanwhile, in April, Lotte Duty Free changed the name of LDF House in Myeong-dong to 'Now In Myeong-dong' and introduced a new branding. The new branding was created with the concept of conveying an image of an international space by combining English and Chinese characters, taking the multilingual typography used in the signage on Myeong-dong Street. The pop-up of the globally popular character “Snoopy” in Myeong-dong, which ran until August 20, attracted more than 1,500 visitors a day, making it very popular among Gen Z in Korea and abroad.
