Lotte Duty Free Shop opens Snoopy Market at Now in Myeong-dong
Lotte Duty Free has unveiled a Snoopy Market at its Now in Myeong-dong duty free store in Seoul.
Snoopy is the popular beagle dog character in Charles M. Schulz’s ‘Peanuts’ cartoon series, introduced in the 1950s. Along with other main characters, Charlie Brown and the yellow migratory bird Woodstock, Snoopy remains popular today.
Lotte Duty Free collaborated with IP commerce brand Bo Friends in the themed pop-up, which is the first in the Myeong-dong area to feature the Snoopy character, and will run until August 14. The experience includes photo zones and rest areas and offers more than 500 colorful products, including limited edition Snoopy dolls, key chains and portable fans which are exclusive to the pop-up.
Targeting both domestic and foreign customers, Lotte Duty Free will also offer a range of Food & Beverage options featuring the characters in marshmallow ice cream, coffee, drinks and cookies.
The experience also includes a lucky draw and rewards that can be redeemed at the main Lotte Duty Free Myeong-dong store and online. Other promotions include a Snoopy gift with purchase offer and a 30% discount on BoFriends tumblers and cups when purchasing cookies over KRW 19,900 (US$150).
Nam Gung-pyo, Head of Lotte Duty Free’s New Growth Business Division, said, “We have prepared a Snoopy pop-up store loved by all ages to provide valuable memories to domestic and foreign customers. We will continue to collaborate with famous character IPs and brands at Lotte Duty Free Now in Myeong-dong in the future. We plan to expand and improve customer experience.”
Lotte Duty Free changed the name of LDF House located in Myeong-dong to ‘Now in Myeong-dong’ last April and introduced new branding. The travel retailer noted that a Bellygom Now in Meong-dong pop-up which ran until May 31 was very popular with Millennial and Gen Z consumers, attracting over 1,000 people visiting per day.
