Lagardère Travel Retail has expanded its footprint in Asia with the opening of the first Kering Eyewear standalone boutique in Singapore Changi Airport.

This partnership brings luxury and high-end eyewear to travelling consumers while seamlessly integrating innovation through the power of digital and sustainability using Green Label certified materials.

Kering Eyewear is regarded as the most relevant player in the Luxury Eyewear market segment. The company designs, develops and distributes eyewear for a well-balanced portfolio of 14 brands including Gucci, Cartier, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Chloé, Alexander McQueen, Montblanc, Dunhill, Alaïa, and Puma, together with its proprietary brands LINDBERG, Maui Jim and Zeal Optics.

Ann Pang, CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Singapore, said, “With the return of travelers to the region and the reopening of the newly renovated Terminal 2, we will enhance the space with new brands and pioneering retail concepts for Changi Airport’s discerning customers. As a distinguished global travel retailer, we pride ourselves on our ability in bringing new and innovative experiences tailored to meet the refined expectations and aspirations of travelers at Changi Airport.

"We are proud to partner with Kering Eyewear, to bring a first-of-its-kind retail concept to Changi Airport and to South-East Asia Pacific. Travelers should expect a complete selection of Kering Eyewear brands’ products, the best from each Maison, combined with excellent customer service. The store complements perfectly the surrounding digital attractions unveiled at Terminal 2 – such as the 14-meter tall ‘Wonderfall’ and immersive ‘Dreamscape’ – thanks to an innovative concept and slick design, embodying the future of travel retail evolution.

“We are thrilled to elevate the travel retail experience to new heights and redefine it with this partnership to create an unforgettable shopping destination,” Pang added.

In order to develop an immersive and interactive shopping experience, the store features the Kering Eyewear Digital Retail Concept. The digital screens showing branded videos can be updated and animated in real-time providing a new look to the store moving from a multi-brand layout to a single brand takeover with one click. Digital screens are incorporated in tailored design fixtures which provide a striking backdrop for the Kering Eyewear Collections.

The aim of the Digital Retail Concept is to create a state-of-the-art presentation platform for Kering Eyewear’s luxury brands, to elevate consumers’ in-store experience using an advanced digital approach and to engage customers and sales associates with tailormade needs.

Sustainable luxury

Spanning over 650 square feet, the travel retail boutique conveys a sense of modernity with an open space covered in rose gold marble accents. Designed with the fusion of sustainability and functionality, the boutique embodies Lagardère Travel Retail’s aspirations to sustainability and commitment to reduce their carbon footprint by employing green label materials throughout its construction, driving change and innovation throughout the industry.

Most of raw materials were in locally sourced and Eco-Friendly paint, recycled acrylic and sustainable materials have been meticulously chosen to uphold environmental responsibility without compromising on luxury and quality. Same as for the LED lighting, renowned for its energy efficiency and longevity.
