ARI brings St. Patrick's Day celebrations around the world
During a week filled with green hues and worldwide festivities, ARI was honored to welcome prominent figures from Ireland’s political circle across several international venues to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
Deeply rooted in Irish tradition, ARI operates under the daa, a state-owned enterprise, and is recognized as the innovator of the duty free concept with the opening of the world’s first duty free shop at Shannon Airport in Ireland in 1947. Today, ARI has expanded its operations to 13 countries and 27 cities globally.
Ray Hernan, CEO of ARI, expressed his enthusiasm about the diplomatic visits, stating, “It was our great privilege to extend a warm 'Céad Míle Fáilte' to Ireland’s leading dignitaries during this hallmark week for the Irish diaspora and enterprises worldwide. Together with our colleagues and our partners, we are delighted to see ARI continue to prosper and expand its global footprint, and we wish a very joyous St Patrick’s Day to all. Slainte!”
This week’s visits included engagements by Tánaiste Micheál Martin TD at Montreal Duty Free, Canada, Simon Coveney, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment in Delhi, India, and Seán Ó Fearghaíl, Ceann Comhairle at Portugal Duty Free, Lisbon.
ARI proudly embodies the essence of Irish ingenuity and the festive ethos of St. Patrick’s Day, as the tradition of the shamrock travels around the globe.
