The newly renovated Lotte Duty Free Shop at Gimpo Airport carries a wider range of brands and products

The Lotte Duty Free Shop has re-opened its Gimpo Airport store in Seoul, South Korea, after a three-month refurbishment.

Kim Mi-jin, manager of Lotte Duty Free Shop at Gimpo Airport, said, “Through the renewal of the entire store, we are able to present a more pleasant shopping environment and a wider range of brands and products.”

Foreign cosmetics brands such as La Mer, Le Labo, and Hermès perfumes have entered the newly renovated store. Lotte Duty Free is planning to introduce Korean tourism and culture to foreign tourists through a large LED screen installed on one side of the store. By the middle of next month, a large travel-themed sculpture called “Travel Scene” will be installed to provide airport users with the joy of travel.

In October 2021, Lotte Duty Free was awarded the ten-year contract for perfumes/cosmetics and general merchandise (excluding liquor & tobacco) at Gimpo Airport.

Between January and April of this year, the number of international passengers at Gimpo Airport totaled 770,000, a 138% increase from the previous four months. Lotte Duty Free's Gimpo Airport store also announced that sales during the last three months of operating temporary stores increased by 60% compared to the previous three months.

To celebrate the re-opening of the store, Lotte Duty Free presented tickets for the 32nd Lotte Duty Free Family Concert to first-time purchasers of the Gimpo Airport store. The shop is also holding a “Sparkling Summer” promotion for Korean customers until July 30 in celebration of the summer vacation season. Customers who purchase more than KRW 400,000 (US$300) will also have the chance to enter a lottery to win air tickets to Sydney, Australia, Tokyo, Japan, and Lotte Hotel Jeju accommodation vouchers.

At Lotte Duty Free downtown stores, LDF PAY, which can be used like cash at Lotte Duty Free stores, is presented according to the purchase amount, and Lotte Duty Free Incheon Airport stores are offering discounts of up to KRW 140,000 (US$106).
