Dubai Duty Free Foundation and Dubai Cares renew partnership
Dubai Duty Free's Colm McLoughlin and Dubai Cares' H.E. Dr. Tariq Al Gurg sign the MoU
The Dubai Duty Free Foundation has renewed its partnership with Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), for another three years.
"The partnership, which began in 2017, will see Dubai Duty Free Foundation continue to support the efforts of Dubai Cares, a UAE-based global philanthropic organization, to provide children and youth in developing countries with access to quality education," notes a press release.
As part of the agreement, Dubai Duty Free Foundation will donate AED 1.5 million (US$408,421) to Dubai Cares annually for a period of three years, thereby supporting the organization’s efforts towards helping achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education for children and youth and promote lifelong learning by 2030.
The agreement was signed at Dubai Duty Free Foundation’s Head Office by Colm McLoughlin, Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Duty Free and H.E. Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer and Vice-Chairman of Dubai Cares.
“We are delighted to renew our partnership with Dubai Cares through this MoU to continue supporting their educational programs that will benefit children and young people in underprivileged communities around the world. We will also continue working with them closely to identify specific initiatives that tie in with our own Foundation’s objectives," McLoughlin said.
