Paradies Lagardère and Amazon partner on retail experience at CLT
This is the first Paradies Lagardère retail location to offer a checkout-free experience
Paradies Lagardère has unveiled The Goods Express@CLT, a checkout-free retail experience powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. Opened in the airport’s Atrium, the retail location was created to offer speed and convenience to travelers.
Amazon’s Just Walk Out shopping experience uses the same types of technologies used in self-driving cars: computer vision, sensor fusion, and deep learning. Designed to be an effortless experience, shoppers enter the store by inserting a credit card at the entry gate. The technology then detects what shoppers take from or return to the shelves in the store. When they have completed their shopping experience, they will be able to just leave the store and their credit card will be charged only for the items they took and that are in their virtual cart.
The Goods Express@CLT delivers a new level of speed, convenience, and quality for CLT travelers as Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology is designed to eliminate checkout lines, allowing customers to enjoy a frictionless shopping experience.
