Bahrain Duty Free celebrates MEADFA Awards win at BAH

Bahrain Duty Free held a cake-cutting ceremony at Bahrain International Airport (BAH) today to celebrate its MEADFA Awards win for “Best Retailer.”
Bassam Al Wardi, CEO of Bahrain Duty Free, was in attendance this morning with colleagues to take part in the special moment. The win comes on the heels of the retailer’s recent expansion to the new Departures terminal at BAH.
The retailer’s main strategy was to create a custom sense of place and a luxury mall-style relaxed atmosphere. The new store, at 4,700 square meters, is more sophisticated and integrated, with bespoke and boutique brands alongside luxury labels and some high-street offerings.
Bahrain Duty Free hosted the inaugural MEADFA Awards ceremony on November 29 at The Art Hotel & Resort in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Awards recognize innovative, dynamic world-class travel retail specialists in the Middle East and Africa region. The event was a highlight of this year’s MEADFA Conference which attracted 441 delegates.
