Qatar Duty Free welcomes world class golf professionals to the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters 2020 golf tournament

By Hibah Noor

Qatar Duty Free is the official retail partner of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters golf tournament, which will take place at Education City Golf Club (ECGC) from 5 to 8 March 2020.

The tournament will bring together an exciting line up of the PGA European Tour players including last year’s European Tour title winner Justin Harding.

As well as watching the golf against a stunning backdrop of Doha’s skyline and Education City FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 stadium, visitors and spectators can enjoy a range of pop-up gourmet eateries and entertainment at the ECGC’s public village including interactive games, fun shows and exhibits. Qatar Duty Free will host a booth featuring a miniature golf course, a photo opportunity and live streaming of the tournament. The award-winning airport retailer will also run a social media competition for visitors and its online followers, to give everyone a chance to win a QAR 5,000 voucher to spend at Qatar Duty Free.

Qatar Duty Free Vice President Operations, Mr. Thabet Musleh, said: “Qatar Duty Free is delighted to have sponsored the Commercial Bank Golf Masters since 2009 at Doha City Golf Club and to extend its support this year to Doha’s newest golf club at Education City. In October, we hosted a very successful golfing event at ECGC to welcome delegates for the Trinity Forum 2019 and we are pleased to be able to welcome players once again to a new challenge at Qatar’s second 18-hole championship course. We wish all players a successful tournament.”

In October, Qatar Duty Free co-hosted the 2019 Trinity Forum – the world’s most influential airport commercial revenues conference – along with Hamad International Airport (HIA) and Qatar Airways. The forum, which was hosted by The Moodie Davitt Report, ACI World and ACI Asia-Pacific, was inaugurated with a social game of golf and lessons for non-golfers at the Education City Golf Club.

Along with Qatar Airways, QDF has also sponsored the Qatar ExxonMobil Open and the Qatar Total Open 2020 tennis tournaments this year.
