Two Chinese nationals crowned Changi Airport’s ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ winners
Changi Airport has announced the two winners for the ninth installment of its annual shopping promotion ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ yesterday (January 24) evening.
Chen Rou Jing, 34, won the S$1 million (US$ 738,000) grand prize, while Cao Zheng, 24 walked away with a brand-new Jaguar E-PACE SUV. Both winners were from China.
A total of 14 finalists vied for the top prizes through a game of Scissors, Paper, Stone. At the grand finale, eight finalists competed for the million dollars, while six finalists contested for a Jaguar E-PACE SUV. After several elimination rounds, the last two finalists faced off in a deciding round where the ninth Changi Millionaire and the owner of the new Jaguar E-PACE SUV were crowned.
Passengers can participate in the ‘Be a Changi Millionaire’ Draw by spending a minimum of S$50 in a single receipt by shopping or dining at Changi Airport. One lucky finalist will be picked per month from May to October for the Grand Draw, while two others will be selected from shoppers on the iShopChangi and Changi Rewards’ Platinum card members. Changi Rewards is the airport’s loyalty program. Additionally, six finalists for the car prize will be drawn from shoppers who spent more than S$500 in accumulated spending in a day.
For the ninth instalment, a total of 1.4 million entries from 212 nationalities were received for this ninth instalment. According to Changi Airport, majority of the participants were from Singapore, China and Indonesia.
The 10th edition of the ‘Be A Changi Millionaire’ will be launched later this year, with more details released subsequently.
