Pi Insight taps industry veteran Best for client director role

Former NPD Travel Retail executive Simon Best joins data and insights provider as ShelfTrak service sees growing demand across beauty, alcohol, confectionery and tobacco categories
Pi Insight has appointed Simon Best as Client Director to support expansion of its ShelfTrak data platform across the travel retail channel.
Best brings over 15 years of travel retail experience to the role, having previously worked at NPD Travel Retail (formerly Counter Intelligence Retail Ltd) across all major travel retail categories. His appointment comes as Pi Insight reports accelerating demand for its ShelfTrak service, particularly in the beauty sector where several global brand owners have recently onboarded.
"Simon's extensive industry knowledge and commitment to delivering exceptional client value make him the ideal addition to our team," says Stephen Hillam, Managing Director of Pi Insight. "With ShelfTrak's demand accelerating across multiple categories, Simon will play a key role in ensuring our clients leverage the full potential of our insights to drive strategic growth and success."
In his new position, Best will focus on client onboarding and support while working to embed ShelfTrak more deeply into clients' commercial strategies. The platform currently provides SKU-level insights across 50 airports and 75 stores globally, offering visibility into store category execution.
The appointment reflects Pi Insight's broader growth trajectory, with the company reporting new client wins in alcohol, confectionery and tobacco categories alongside its beauty sector expansion.
