Brand USA on mission to attract Indian tourists

Brand USA is intensifying its outreach to Indian tourists, highlighted by its largest-ever India Sales and Media Mission in Hyderabad. The initiative reflects India's position as one of America's fastest-growing inbound markets and aligns with the US goal of attracting 90 million international visitors annually by 2027.

"India is one of our fastest-growing inbound markets, and the enthusiasm we've seen from both the travel trade and media partners this year has been extraordinary," says Fred Dixon, President and CEO of Brand USA. The mission connected US tourism stakeholders with Indian counterparts through direct meetings and networking events. This push comes as part of the 2022 National Travel and Tourism Strategy, which aims to generate US$279 billion from international tourism.

India's growing middle class and increased spending power make it a key market for US tourism. Prior to the pandemic, India contributed over 1.4 million visitors to the US. The recovery trajectory suggests strong growth potential, supported by initiatives to streamline visa processes and improve flight connectivity.

Brand USA's focus encompasses diverse offerings from major cities to national parks, targeting segments like family group travel, luxury experiences and adventure tourism. The organization's investment in the Indian market signals confidence in sustained tourism growth between the two nations.
