Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup returns this weekend
The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup will be held this weekend on August 6 at Ascot Racecourse as the fixture in the global racing calendar returns for the first time since 2019.
"The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup offers a perfect blend of thrilling entertainment on and off the track and is one of our most popular racedays of the year," reads the Ascot website.
In attendance at the event will be Dubai Duty Free's Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Colm McLoughlin; Joint Chief Operating Officer Salah Tahlak; and Senior Vice-President Marketing Sinead El Sibai.
McLoughlin said, "We are very much looking forward to returning to Ascot for the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup, an event we have supported for more than 20 years, and as title sponsor since 2006. The Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup has continued to evolve during our tenure and the new format provides even more opportunities for riders from all over the world to showcase their talent on this iconic international stage."
The world's top jockeys will compete as they join forces to try and lift racing's ultimate team prize trophy in a thrilling eight-race contest before rounding off the day with live music. Musical guests include Grammy Award-winning Clean Bandit, multi-platinum selling The Hoosiers, as well as Samm Henshaw and Marvin Humes.
