m1nd-set and Blueprint join forces in insights seminar in May

The insights workshop will present the latest traffic and forecast data, with a focus on Chinese, Indian and South Korean travelers
Travel retail research agency m1nd-set and business development agency Blueprint are set to co-host present an Asia Pacific shopper insights workshop ahead of the TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference in Singapore in May.
The seminar will explore opportunities for top three travelling nationalities – Chinese, Indians and South Koreans – with dynamic traffic and forecast data the focal point.
Titled ‘The Asia Pacific Revolution - Shopper Insights Workshop’, the seminar will deliver a deep dive into Asia Pacific shopper behavior, offering invaluable insights from m1nd-set on these key travelling nationalities. It will explore key cultural traits, traveler and shopper profiles, as well as planning and purchasing habits, shedding light on the diverse needs and expectations, and providing a detailed comparison between each of the region’s three most prominent travelling nationalities.
According to the organizers, attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how these high-spending travelers engage with the travel retail landscape. m1nd-set will also provide detailed forecasts on their top destinations and traffic trends over the next three years, providing industry stakeholders with critical data needed to optimize strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities among travelling Chinese, Indian and South Korean consumers.

Blueprint and m1nd-set explore air traffic evolution
According to m1nd-set, the outbound travel market for Indian travelers will surpass the pre-pandemic 2019 traffic level by 35% in 2025, the South Koreans by 24%, while the Chinese are still in recovery mode at just less than 90% of 2019 levels in 2025, with a full recovery expected in the next two years.
Anna Marchesini, Head of Business Development at m1nd-set underlined the importance of adopting a specific, tailored approach to these key Asia Pacific nationalities. “Chinese, Indian, and South Korean travelers are expected to take approximately 240 million international flights in 2025; their impact on the travel retail sector is immense,” she said.
“To maximize their engagement, travel retail marketers must deeply understand their spending patterns: how they plan their purchases, as well as when, where, and how they can be most effectively influenced to shop.”

India international air traffic is also monitored closely
In addition to the insights from m1nd-set, co-organizers Blueprint will explore strategies for engaging Asia Pacific traveler segments. The business development agency will discuss how Asia Pacific travelers are positively influenced, focusing on their unique cultural values and sensitivities. They will also share concrete examples of successful campaigns and activations that enhance satisfaction, drive spending, and shape the shopping behavior of Asia Pacific traveler groups. Blueprint will also share examples of how experiential retail is likely to evolve in Asia Pacific, and the influence digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will have on the travel retail sector in Asia Pacific.
The workshop will explore the most effective ‘future-friendly’ strategies for industry stakeholders to meet the evolving needs of travelling shoppers. Best-in-class case studies will showcase how leading airports, retailers, and brands successfully engage with these highly valuable consumers from diverse cultures.
Karl Walter, Partner at Blueprint, added, “Blueprint constantly tracks and debates how megatrends transform the travel retail experience. Artificial intelligence is transforming travel retail as we speak. AI is not just streamlining airport operations, it is taking, seamless and curated travel retail experiences to much higher levels.
“Asia Pacific airports, retailers and brands are at the very forefront of transforming the travel retail experience,” he continued. “By merging social media, artificial intelligence and experiential retail, every moment becomes an opportunity to connect and engage with shoppers. We are truly excited about sharing perspectives on how Asia Pacific airport retail will evolve over the coming years. It is quite mind-blowing!”
The workshop will take place on level 4 of the Marina Bay Sands Exhibition and Convention Centre and will run from 15.00 – 17.30. Registration for the workshop is open and early bird tickets are on sale for the reduced amount of US$225 until March 15. The standard rate of US$300 will apply from March 16.
