London claims the top spot as the Most Popular Destination in 2024
Travel analyst ForwardKeys has revealed the revealed the destinations that captured the most attention from leisure and business travellers through 2024.
Its latest listings highlight the most popular destinations worldwide, top performers for year-on-year growth, the ten destinations leading APAC’s recovery and the top destinations for business travel.
London maintained its position as the world’s favorite destination, while Bangkok (+30%) and Tokyo (+36%) emerged as strong contenders, reflecting their growing popularity with travellers through 2024.
Alicante and Budapest led the way in growth, while vibrant cities like Miami (18%), Athens (17%), and Los Angeles (17%) also captured more travellers’ attention – reflecting diverse travel preferences in 2024.
APAC destinations showed strong post-COVID recovery through 2024, with Beijing and Guangzhou standing out as top performers. Impressive year-on-year growth from Nha Trang (+80%), Shanghai (+77%), and Hong Kong (+44%) highlighted the wider region’s appeal.
Shanghai led the global business travel sector (+63%), demonstrating its unmatched appeal for corporate travellers. Elsewhere, Kuala Lumpur (+28%), Bangkok (+23%), and Tokyo (+21%) emerged as key destinations for doing business through 2024.
