Shiseido Company finalizes key CEO succession plan

Japan’s Shiseido Company has announced that Kentaro Fujiwara will take on the role of President and CEO from January 1, 2025, following the retirement of Masahiko Uotani at the end of this year.

Fujiwara is currently Director, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, President and COO. His new title will be Director, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, President and CEO.

Uotani, who is Shiseido Company Director, Representative Corporate Executive Officer, Chairman and CEO, will act as a Senior Advisor to the Shiseido Group. He will retire as a Shiseido director at the end of March 2025.

Shiseido has been proceeding with a five-year CEO succession plan since 2019, with Fujiwara and Uotani working together to complete a successful leadership transition.
