Avolta’s Autogrill and 12oz make Milan Famagosta metro station debut

12oz opens at Milan Famagosta metro station

Avolta’s Autogrill has opened the first franchise store under the 12oz brand – an innovative Italian retail format specialized in the rapid service of coffee and milk-based drinks – inside the Milan Famagosta metro station.

The station is a strategic hub for over a million passengers and commuters passing through on an average weekday.

The metro station store marks a further step in the network of coffee shops within the JDE Peet’s group, created by Italian entrepreneur David Nathaniel, with around 30 locations, distributed in some of the main Italian cities and two recently opened in Athens.

12oz specializes in the quick service of milk-based drinks and snacks

Luca D’Alba, General Manager Italy F&B Avolta said, “The collaboration with 12oz and the opening of the new location is perfectly in line with our path of development and continuous renewal and strengthening of our brand portfolio. The objective is to create a network of strategic sales points also in city centers, as well as in hubs and commuting points, where the speed of the service and therefore a rapid response to needs of customers become highly competitive and successful resources.”

David Nathaniel, Founder of 12oz, commented, “Signing an affiliation agreement with a player like Autogrill is an important milestone for us and encourages us to continue the project of expanding our brand in a segment like travel, which is so dynamic and cosmopolitan. The ability to dispense and serve our products very quickly, a founding characteristic of our format, allows us to be highly performing precisely in peak flows and high rotations, thanks to the proprietary technologies of our system of delivery and extremely simplified operations. In fact, it takes less than 30 seconds to serve a large number of the drinks on our menu.”

The new point of sale is equipped with two walk-through windows to serve products to-go in 12oz paper cups. Limited seating is available and customers can select from a wide range of customizable drinks based on coffee and milk (including plant-based milk), desserts, croissants and a wide savory offer. The 12oz network is expected to increase over the coming months.
