Tallink’s new flagship MyStar gets festive salutation at Port of Tallinn
Tallink Grupp’s new flagship, fast ferry MyStar arrived Saturday December 10 at the vessel’s home port, Port of Tallinn, Old City Harbour in Estonia. The first commercial voyage of MyStar will take place on tomorrow, Tuesday, December 13, departing from Tallinn to Helsinki at 1:30 p.m. EEST.
Described as “the most technologically advanced and energy efficient fast ferry on the Baltic Sea,” MyStar was received with a special festive welcome upon entering the port and escorted by a tow boat and water cannon salute, compliments of Alfons Håkans.
Tallink’s fast ferry Megastar greeted her new tandem partner on the company’s Tallinn-Helsinki route, MyStar, with a cheerful signal from the vessel’s foghorn.
The construction of Tallink Grupp’s new shuttle vessel MyStar started in April 2020 in Rauma Marine Constructions shipyard in Finland; and the vessel was delivered to Tallink Grupp last week.
MyStar’s captains are Masters Vahur Ausmees, Aivar Moorus and Ain Aksalu, the MyStar crew is altogether 208 members in total.
