Sherif Toulan's warm welcome in Bahrain
Sherif Toulan addresses the crowd in a welcome speech at the MEADFA Conference 2022 in the Kingdom of Bahrain
On the first morning of the MEADFA Conference attendees received a warm welcome from Sherif Toulan, President of The Middle East & Africa Duty Free Association (MEADFA).
Taking place at The Art Hotel & Resort, Toulan thanked delegates for attending the event in the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as Bahrain Duty Free for being the official host, and all sponsors for their support.
“We must join forces as one industry,” Toulan said in his welcome address. He shared a message of positivity, reminding the industry of its powerful determination and contributions to recovery post-pandemic.
“Not only did we survive, but we’re ready to go again. Over the next few days, we will be discussing many of the forces that will shape the years ahead,” he said.

Moderators John Rimmer, Managing Director at TFWA, and Dermot Davitt, President of the Moodie Davitt Report, opened the Conference with a preview of what to expect, highlighting sessions where delegates will hear from Bahrain’s leading industry experts and prominent figures from the region’s duty free and travel retail sector.
The MEADFA Conference is managed by TFWA and runs from November 27 to 29.
