John Rimmer steps down as Managing Director of TFWA

John Rimmer, Managing Director of Tax Free World Association (TFWA), has decided to step down from his position and will be leaving TFWA effective October 30, 2023.
Rimmer joined TFWA in October 2012 as Director of Conferences and Research, and was promoted to Managing Director in October 2017 following the retirement of Alain Maingreaud.
During his time as Managing Director, and with the support of his team, the Board and Management Committee, Rimmer successfully developed and grew the association’s two major exhibitions, as well as its other components. He also steered the association through the difficult and turbulent period of the pandemic, and will be leaving at a time when the association is in a strong position to develop further and indeed to meet future challenges.
Erik Juul-Mortensen, TFWA President, said, “On behalf of the Management Committee, the Board and the entire team at TFWA, I would like to thank John for his valuable contribution to the development and success of TFWA since he joined, and wish him every success going forward.”
According to a statement shared by the association, the search for a new Managing Director has been initiated, and an announcement will be made in due course.
