​Sunil Tuli re-elected President of APTRA

The Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA)'s Annual General Meeting was held online on May 3, during which members voted for the 12 representatives of the APTRA board to serve for the period 2023-2025. Each board position is held by a member organization represented by an individual from that organization.

The elected board is as follows:

King Power Group Hong Kong – Sunil Tuli, Group CEO

Delhi Duty Free Services – Nuno Amaral, Director

Airports

Auckland International Airport – Lucy Thomas, Head of Retail

Changi Airport Group – Teo Chew Hoon, Managing Director Airside Concessions

Associations

TFWA - Erik Juul-Mortensen, President

Australia Duty Free Association – Steve Timms, Chairperson

Brands

Chanel – Hervé Ducros, Director Global Travel Retail

CVH Spirits (formerly Distell) – Luke Maga, Managing Director, Travel Retail

JT International – Pan Har Ying, Corporate Affairs & Communications Manager

Lacoste – Erin Lillis – Travel Retail Director

The newly elected board then chose Sunil Tuli to remain as President and Erin Lillis to remain as Secretary. Pan Har Ying of JTI, the former Treasurer will remain on the Board, but the position of Treasurer, which has a limited term, is taken by Susan Hueso of Lindt & Sprüngli.

“I am delighted to be re-elected as APTRA President and to continue to serve the association and the industry as it powers up to full recovery," says Tuli. "On behalf of the APTRA board, I extend a warm welcome to Simon Van Moppes, representing Pernod Ricard, who I know will bring valuable strategic insight and enthusiasm to the board.”

Looking ahead to the TFWA Asia Pacific Conference in Singapore, APTRA will welcome over 160 guests to its Networking Lunch on May 7 at the Tanglin Club. On May 8, between 2.30-4pm, the APTRA Exchange will feature presentations from ForwardKeys, Pi Insight and keynote speaker Simon Baptist, Global Chief Economist from the Economist Intelligence Unit who will share his views on regional recovery dynamics in 'Recession averted? Economic and business outlook for 2024 and beyond.'
