Nice Côte d’Azur Airport issues tenders to renew entire retail offer
By renewing its entire retail offer, the airport aims to enhance its vision of a retail environment that embodies the character of the French Riviera
The operator of Nice Côte d’Azur Airport is actively seeking out its future business partners. Covering floor space of nearly 4,500 square meters, the 28 stores up for tender account for over 80% of all retail sales at the airport’s Terminal 1, 2 and general aviation terminal.
The future offer will be arranged into “core/traditional” segments such as Duty Free (perfumes and cosmetics, wines and spirits, cigarettes and cigars), fashion and accessories, souvenirs, local gastronomy, high-tech goods, and so on. However, it will also include new concepts focusing on children, wellbeing, eco-friendly products and more.
By renewing its entire retail offer, the airport aims to enhance its vision of a retail environment that embodies what makes the French Riviera so special: its wealth and diversity, along with the unique way of life that stretches from Saint Tropez to Italy, encapsulating a timeless dream for millions across the globe.
Fifty-two percent of the airport's passengers fall into the high-income category, while 44% of them are foreign visitors, essentially from Northern Europe, the UK, the Middle East and the USA, a rapidly growing destination with an increasing number of direct routes.
"Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is intended to serve as a link between the Riviera and the rest of the world. More than a showcase, it’s an opportunity for the brands to highlight their products. As the gateway to one of the world’s best-known regions, Nice Côte Azur Airport has implemented an ambitious policy to transform boarding time into an experience that's surprising, unforgettable, and unique in Europe. This policy led to us being named Best Airport Operator in 2018 by Frontier Awards,” explains Candice Cadreils, Head of the Commercial BU at Aéroports de la Côte d'Azur.
As well as reflecting the uniqueness of its region, the future retail offer has to address three other criteria. An eco-friendly approach, echoing the airport’s extremely ambitious environmental policy; serenity, with a wellbeing offer that gets the journey off to a relaxing start as soon as passengers enter the terminal; and innovation, which is the fastest-growing criteria in terms of passenger expectations.
