The fourth release in The Macallan's distil Your World series is now available
The Macallan has revealed the latest addition to its Distil Your World series. The fourth release celebrates Hong Kong, “a city constantly reinventing itself, sculpted by tradition, but headed towards the future”.
Available in select Macallan Boutiques and shop-in-shops, this exceptional limited-edition single malt whisky offers travelers the opportunity to experience the essence of Hong Kong.
Crafted in collaboration with the Roca brothers, owners of the El Celler de Can Roca, twice named best Restaurant in the World, each Distil Your World expression is a sensorial tribute to a city’s traditions and flavors. Together, Euan Kennedy, The Macallan Lead Whisky Maker, and the Roca brothers embarked on a sensorial journey to distil the essence of Hong Kong, one that revealed it as a dynamic metropolis, rooted in resilience and evolving tenacity.
The resulting whisky is a testament to Hong Kong’s complex nature of constant reinvention and fusion of tradition and modernity, and the meticulous craft and creativity that define The Macallan.
Each Distil Your World expression is crafted in collaboration with the Roca brothers, owners of the El Celler de Can Roca restaurant
This naturally dark exceptional Scotch whisky features bold, foundational flavors of dried spices, characteristic drawn from selected Sherry seasoned European Oak hogsheads. These casks provide key flavors of ginger, cinnamon and echo other local spices discovered in the vibrant city’s markets.
Each layer contributes to a rich and multifaceted experience that mirrors the city’s dynamic nature.
The nose has a rich, resinous sweetness intertwined with decadent ginger and spices, balanced by fragrant honey, antique oak and vibrant tropical characteristics such as pomelo and mango, reminiscent of Hong Kong style egg tart. On the palate, mouthcoating viscosity paired with bright tropical sweetness, ginger and rounded spices give way to aged oak, grapefruit and an umami-like depth. The finish shines with vibrant antique oak.

This exploration inspires the creation of an exceptional whisky and a culinary adventure. Their journey unfolds by immersing themselves in the lives of characters who embody the innovation, heritage, artistry, and community spirit that characterize Hong Kong as a dynamic hub of entrepreneurship.
The Macallan Distil Your World Hong Kong is a limited-edition release with an RRSP of $4,750, now available exclusively in Asia. This launch pays tribute to Hong Kong’s deep significance to the region, making it the ideal location for the initial release. Other regions will follow in the coming months.
