Bottega elevates Prosecco with premium vintage collection featuring Gold Diamond

By Wendy Morley

Bottega will showcase extended-fermentation sparkling wines at Summit of the Americas in Miami, including new Gold Diamond expression, as it targets the ultra-premium segment

The travel retail channel will play a key role in Bottega's strategy to elevate Prosecco to new premium heights, with the Italian producer unveiling its Prosecco Premium Vintage Collection at this year’s IAADFS show (Summit of the Americas) in Miami, March 8-11.

The collection represents a significant step in Bottega's decade-long project to produce ultra-premium Prosecco through extended fermentation periods of up to 12 months – significantly longer than the typical one-month process. The wines are produced from hand-harvested Glera grapes grown in selected vineyards within the UNESCO Heritage Hills region.

Central to the showcase is the newly launched Bottega Gold Diamond, a 2022 vintage Prosecco DOC Extra Brut. Sourced from a single vineyard, the expression undergoes a minimum nine-month fermentation in horizontal autoclaves using Bottega's proprietary method. The wine displays fine and persistent perlage, with an elegant bouquet featuring notes of juicy apple, pear and bread crust, complemented by spicy hints of sage and marjoram. The palate presents a dry, sapid and persistent character with ripe fruit and bread crust notes.

Bottega Gold Diamond features the brand's signature mirrored bottle design, enhanced with crystal brand detailing.

The collection positions Bottega in the ultra-premium sparkling wine segment, with bottles reaching up to 250 euros, targeting competition with traditional method sparklers and French Champagne.

Visitors to IAADFS' Summit of the Americas can experience the collection at Bottega's booth #700 at the Intercontinental Hotel Miami.
