Ian Macleod Distillers to unveil a trio of GTR exclusives at TFWA WE

By Laura Shirk

The new Glengoyne Highland Malt Whisky Single Cask is 28 Years Old and limited to only 197 bottles, all of which will be exclusively in GTR

At its new stand in Bay Village (Bay 3) at TFWA Cannes 2024, Ian Macleod Distillers (IMD), one of Scotland’s leading independent family-owned distillers, blenders and bottlers, is to showcase three new global travel retail (GTR) exclusive single malt Scotch whiskies.

These new expressions are Glengoyne Highland Single Malt 12-Year-Old First Fill Edition, Glengoyne Highland Single Malt 28-Year-Old Single Cask and the third release from the Rosebank Lowland Single Malt Vintage Series.

Further developing the award-winning GTR exclusive Glengoyne Spirit of Time collection, IMD is excited to introduce the new 12-Year-Old First Fill Edition. This wonderfully balanced expression is crafted using a combination of First Fill American Oak Bourbon Casks and First Fill Oloroso Sherry Casks, providing a perfectly rounded drinking experience for the single malt enthusiast.

The new Glengoyne Highland Malt Whisky Single Cask is 28 Years Old and limited to only 197 bottles, all of which will be available exclusively in the channel. Rich in color, this is the first Glengoyne Single Cask release in GTR.

Rosebank Vintage Series III is a 1991 vintage and will be 33 Years Old at the time of release. This expression will be limited to only 350 bottles. Earlier this year, the business opened the stunning reawakened Rosebank Distillery in Falkirk. This highly limited vintage is a quintessential example of the beautifully unique Rosebank spirit, perfectly light and floral from the triple distillation, balanced with oily notes from the worm tub condensers. This will be the third release in a collection of five GTR exclusive Rosebank vintages.

Also at the stand in Cannes, IMD will present its rebranded Wincarnis Tonic and Ginger Wines, a popular brand in the Middle East and South East Asia markets. Wincarnis Tonic and Ginger Wines are crafted using a unique blend of over 14 botanicals.

Ian Macleod Distillers Global Travel Retail Director, William Ovens says, “Our single malt range has been really strengthened this year. During TFAP in May, we launched our stunning new Tamdhu 46 Years Old and Cuatro Reserva. In Cannes, the focus is very much on Rosebank and Glengoyne with these stunning new expressions. We are very excited to be launching a new core expression for our best-known single malt, Glengoyne, which has a unique proposition for a core expression in GTR, in that it is crafted using only First Fill casks, delivering maximum flavor.

“TFWA Cannes is the highlight of the year in the travel retail industry and we look forward to hosting current and future partners at our stunning new stand and terrace, Bay 3 in the Bay Village.”
