Halewood Artisanal Spirits will highlight the latest release from Bonnington at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes

Halewood Artisanal Spirits – synonymous with travel retail’s leading flavored gin Whitley Neill and disruptive rum/tequila brand Dead Man’s Fingers – will highlight its extensive whisk(e)y portfolio from across the UK and Ireland at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

All are now available to travel retail and will be featured on the Halewood yacht (Harbour Village, M/S Accama Delta) during the event.

Said to be the only company in the world distilling whisky in Scotland, England and Wales, Halewood's collection includes Aber Falls Single Malt from the first distillery in North Wales for over 100 years; Bonnington Single Malt from Leith, Edinburgh and Bankhall British Whisky. Irish Whiskies The Pogues and Samuel Gelston’s are also within the company’s portfolio.

Launched earlier this year in UK travel retail with Avolta, Aber Falls Whisky is available at selected airports including Heathrow, London Gatwick, Cardiff, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and Stansted. Eamon Prunty, Halewood Global Travel Retail Director Eamon Prunty, said, “We’re very satisfied with the performance to date. With its great taste and extremely competitive price at £19.99 (approximately US$26) for a liter, Aber Falls is attracting both whisky lovers and newcomers to the category.”

Whiskies with stories to tell

The Bonnington is the first single cask malt release from this Lowland distillery in Leith, Edinburgh, in nearly 100 years. Construction of the distillery began in 2017, and the logo’s citadel draws inspiration from old fortification ruins discovered during the distillery’s foundation construction. It was commissioned in December 2019 and started its production in March the following year. With only 500 bottles available of this sweet, fruity malt with delicate spice and a long finish, each is hand-signed by distillery manager Jamie Lockhart.

Leith has a long history with Scottish whisky and The Bonnington Distillery is honoring that through its John Crabbie and James Wyld single malts. Wyld established a whisky business in the Port of Leith, Edinburgh in 1801, selling out to Crabbie and William Cree in 1836. John Crabbie & Co have been purveyors of wine and spirits since 1801.

The Bankhall name is also steeped in history, with Bank Hall Distillery in Liverpool mentioned in a 1887 book on UK distilleries. Today, Bankhall Whisky is a celebration of the very best of British, blending quality liquids from Halewood Artisanal Spirits own distilleries across all corners of the UK. With a growing range, Bankhall continues its mission to revolutionize what British-made whisky can be.

Ireland’s The Pogues whiskey is described as ‘the rebel in the pack’

Ireland’s The Pogues whiskey is described as ‘the rebel in the pack’, with the contemporary Irish brand as distinctive as the well-known Irish band and Streams of Whiskey inspired by the band’s ballad of the same name.

Streams of Whiskey blends light, fruity Irish whiskey with a full flavor English whisky, matured in Bourbon casks to give a rich vanilla and toffee finish.

Founded in 1830 by Samuel Gelston, a prosperous wine and whiskey merchant from Belfast, the company has a long history of sourcing, ageing, blending and bottling Irish whiskeys of the highest quality and innovating with exceptional cask finishes.

The offer includes the Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey (Pinot Noir Cask Finish), a collaboration between two cousins: Samuel Gelston’s owner, Johnny Neill and Sam Neill, actor and vineyard owner, who is based in New Zealand. It sees the cousins bringing together the two sides of the family, whilst also merging the brilliant flavors and aromas of the two hemispheres.

The whiskey has been triple-distilled and matured for 22 months in ex-bourbon casks, before spending a further 21 to 27 months maturing in Sam Neill’s French oak casks, which had previously held his Two Paddocks Pinot Noir. Presented in a premium gift box, the whiskey is ideal for travel retail consumers and sits alongside a Samuel Gelston’s Blended Irish Whiskey, Single Malt Irish Whiskey and Irish Cream liqueur.

“We invite retailers to come and discover the rich tapestry of flavor offered by this selection of British, Scottish, Welsh and Irish whiskies, each bottle a testament to the distinct heritage and craftsmanship of its homeland,” Prunty said. “Perfect for travelers looking to explore new whiskies – and at competitive price points to meet all budgets – this range can be marketed collectively to offer a journey through the diverse spirit of the British Isles.”
